Hello and Happy December Reader,
Before we dive into what is coming at Productive Flourishing during 2023, I want to start by sharing my gratitude for and with each of you who are on this journey with us.
We get to do this amazing work because we are in partnership with you, our community, and our audience. And, we have the honor of continuing to grow as individuals, as leaders, in relationship, and in reach and impact through your support and sharing. Thank you. 🙏
As you’ve seen, we spent much of 2022 focused on launching and growing Momentum, at least from a public-facing perspective. While we will continue to grow Momentum…
(Okay, so that heading was a little extra.)
When I say Team Habits is the main thing, that’s actually shorthand for “working with leaders and teams to increase performance and belonging by focusing on team habits and how they work together.” The forthcoming book is but one way.
The reality is that Team Habits is really the crystallization of work we’ve been doing for the last decade. I say we because there’s a good chance that if we have been in conversation it has shown up, whether through one-on-ones with clients, during facilitations, on Monthly Momentum Calls, in retreats, or any of the other places we show up together.
The response I’ve gotten from many of my clients and my inner circle is finally! rather than huh?!
A note from Jeremie, an alpha reader for Team Habits, sums up the general sentiment, including my own:
Like Jeremie, I still love Start Finishing and the body of work I’ve built around doing your best work as an individual. But doing our best work in teams and leading teams to do their best work has always been what I’ve cared most about. The gap for so many leaders, changemakers, and visionaries (aka Creative Giants) was in their own personal effectiveness and habits, so I started where the need was greatest and unfilled.
I’ve been doing 1–4 since 2012-ish and most folks, including clients, don’t know that. It’s one of the casualties of front-shelving the “productivity” body of work and my previous scarcity-based hesitance to talk to clients about other ways we can work together while working with them on what they’ve already paid for. (Pro tip: don’t do that.)
If any of the items above pique your interest, let me know by replying to this email and we’ll see how and where it fits in. Please note that I am not taking on any new clients for one-on-one retainer work for 2023, but I do have availability for team habits facilitations, retreats, coaching, and more.
Another thing we’re excited about getting going again is our in-person retreats. We had exciting plans in Q1 of 2020 to get these going again and then COVID hit.
Our first Level Up Your Life and Leadership Retreat is in February on an island off the coast of Mexico. It’s a week long because we’re packing in a lot of self-care, co-build time, and adventure, depending on what you’re most up for. We’re not about that “rushing through content” life when it comes to retreats.
It’s all-inclusive (minus your transportation to get to Cancun and the villa), so if a mix of a “suncation, winter respite, chill-recharge-dream, get your 10x work done, once-in-a-lifetime” event with up to 15 other friends you haven’t met yet calls to you, you can see more details here.
The early deadline for registration for the retreat ends December 19th.
Whether we have the opportunity to work with you personally in the coming year or we continue to stay in touch through the newsletter and blog and podcast, we are honored to continue this journey with you and encourage you to take some time this month to reflect on and honor where you have been this year and set space and intention for your dreams and visions for 2023.
Here’s to finishing strong this year! And, to each of you our wishes for a holiday season filled with peace, abundance, prosperity, joy, love, and faith in who you are and the magic you bring to the world through the great work you do.
With a lot of love and gratitude,
Charlie and Angela

Hey Reader, Welcome to February, or what I like to call the “second new year.” You probably have a better handle now on what is possible (and realistic) for the year ahead than you did a month ago. Use what you learned in January to recalibrate and move forward. Remember, if you’re planning effectively, you’ll always be changing your plans. One of the challenges that make up the air sandwich we talked about last month is too few resources. Since time is one of the most precious and limited...
Hey Reader, I want to start today by sharing a little secret I’ve picked up over the years. Here’s the secret: Though the frameworks I share may look easy to implement as you’re reading, the truth is, these practices are incredibly difficult to apply when life is going full speed. That’s why in every edition of the Pulse this year, I’ve encouraged you to ease up on yourself, celebrate your victories, and really look at the challenges getting in the way of your big goals and dreams. I...
Hey Reader, The question of what to do when your team isn't building and shipping fast enough (or right enough) comes up a lot in work with my clients, and sometimes on my own team. The question I ask first is always: Well, what have you put in the way that's keeping them from building and shipping? It's a good inversion. We've got to remember most of the people who joined the teams we're talking about here, came to do the building, shipping, and doing, because they love it. So if they're not...
